Women’s-Focused Issues

Women helping women – I’m in your corner.

Career-Driven, Education-Focused, and/or Family-Oriented woman, does this sound like you?

An ambitious, intellectually savvy woman who is doing everything she can to manage her life successfully. Yet sometimes everything you can do may not seem like enough. You still question whether you are enough and whether you do it all well.

Are we actually meant to do it all, have it all, and not break a sweat? If you ask me, someone who’s been there, that way of thinking is overrated and causes a lot of stress. Women have a multitude of complexities in our daily lives, which can be tremendously overwhelming.

Much of the time, as women, we keep our concerns deep within our souls and mask any hurts, disappointments, worries, or physical pain so as not to be perceived as weak. This cognition can be detrimental to our growth in many ways.

Women's therapy support

Women leave bountiful impressions.

As a woman, I can relate to the multifaceted individuals we typically are in all aspects of our lives. However, this intricate design of a woman commonly leaves others to label our identity as one role that best serves our purpose in their lives.

Often, we are limited to serving only the purpose of one role wholeheartedly. Are you concentrating on your career more, focusing on completing your educational goals, or engaged significantly in being the best wife and/or mother there is?

Usually, you can become extremely stressed in these identities, feeling consumed by the need to master each role.

Do you remember who you are?

Are you struggling to define yourself? Are you putting yourself first or leaving yourself the crumbs of life? Is your self-esteem and self-worth diminishing? How do you take care of yourself? Do you think self-care is selfish or selfless? These are all questions every woman should consider through the lens of her life.

How do YOU define yourself? Better yet, who does God say you are? Many women find it difficult to prioritize their needs over those of others or their obligations/responsibilities outside of themselves.

Being unable to do this may leave you empty, while at the same time, trying to prioritize yourself may seem wrong, selfish in a way. Is this perspective true? How could it be? If you don’t attend to your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, how could you be your most attentive and effective self for your family, friends, or career? You might ask yourself, “Can I even find peace?”

Women finding peace

Find peace through women’s therapy.

There’s a lot of weight and pressure that women and men carry, respectively, and each has extremely valid struggles. However, those needs are often uniquely distinctive in nature. Although the circumstances are relatable, the mental/emotional response is different and requires a certain level of care to address and learn effective coping strategies.

I can help you see the value in the space you’re in and work through it most positively. Our therapeutic journey is one of respect, one of understanding, and of determination to face down the many obstacles that may stand in our way as women, while effectively learning to rid oneself of shame and guilt.

Therapy with me includes evidence-based techniques to uproot negative cognitions, while offering validation, reframing, and restructuring thought patterns to create a breakthrough from emotional distress, insecurities, and shame. Through Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Emotionally-Focused Therapy, you can learn self-awareness and other techniques to hold yourself accountable to the change you need to experience in your life.

So the answer to your question is yes, you can achieve anything you set out to do. Attaining peace and improving the quality of life are always worth striving for. Peace is measurable and is defined by every individual, and we will work together to help you find the peace you need and deserve.

Experience change, encouragement, and understanding.
