You feel debilitated, empty, and hopeless.
Friends say, “Oh, you’re just sad.” No, it’s so much more than that. Sadness can cause these feelings temporarily. However, if your extremely low mood has persisted for months and shifted to a state of dread, and total exhaustion, you could be experiencing major depression.
Is it hard to get out of bed every day? Can you sleep peacefully, or are you an insomniac? What have you been doing with your life lately, struggling with fatigue, loss of interest, loss of appetite? Or perhaps, you feel worthless, always worrying and panicking, or having indescribable thoughts.
It must be incredibly hard to face intense bouts of depression when you feel no one understands. Exhausting to mask your true self because you have people saying to you, “Oh, you’re just sad,” “Why can’t you snap out of it?” or “It can’t be that bad.” But it is, it is that bad. For you, the feelings of overwhelming sadness cause you to feel like you will snap like a twig or crumble at any moment.
Oftentimes, this level of depression is accompanied by anxiousness, a physical presence displayed by excessive worry, rapid heart rate, tightness in the chest, and trembling. Some of these symptoms may have made it hard for you to resume daily activities. Is it hard for you to get out of bed, go to work or school, or continue to spend time with family and friends? I can bet a lot of these important aspects of your life have suffered, causing you to experience more guilt, shame, and blame.
You don’t have to face it alone.
In addition to talk therapy, I engage clients in several other research-based modalities for treatment. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Behavioral Activation are among the techniques I have advanced training in and utilize to help my clients gain the strength needed to overcome severe periods of depression and anxiety.
Solution-Focused therapy is a favorite of mine because it allows me to help you focus on the goals you see for your life. I get to empower you by helping you to visualize a life possible with deep depression and anxiety, stripping you of everything.
Can you imagine a life where depression does not rule every waking moment? Do you have goals that may seem too difficult to achieve now? We can develop smaller, less overwhelming goals and work from there. You have the power to take back your life because you are resilient and more capable than you’ve been able to believe.
Let’s start with finding a glimpse of hope for the future. We will “write the vision and make it plain.”
Finding serenity is possible.
Feeling trapped in a state of intense depression, riddled with feelings of anxiousness, can become a defining narrative of one’s life.
The good news is you can find help and peace. It will be a challenging process, but it will be worth every effort you put into it. When a person has dealt with years of emotional torment, it takes time to release it.
It is vital to permit yourself to move forward from the life you’ve known. You must choose to give yourself grace from the pressure of the attack of depressive moods and an anxious state of mind.
The Serene Journey is a therapeutic experience.
It is designed to help you reach the ultimate goal, healing. This journey is about allowing yourself to face grief head-on, which will empower you instead of continuing to debilitate your existence. Trusting the process while seeking peace will benefit all areas of your life.
During Sessions, my goal is to instill courage, offer glimpses of hope, and bring peace – motivating you to press on toward positive changes in your lives. This journey helps women gain strength by recognizing their value and self-worth and building their self-esteem. It is truly a joy for me.
Choosing to work through grieving a loss is choosing to live, to embrace life, and ensure your quality of life is sustainable and enjoyable. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy focus on your thinking. In addition, I recommend keeping a guided workbook and doing the homework outside of sessions. Through this work, you will be specifically challenged by the negative beliefs that hold you hostage.
Our sessions will take place online, so it may be challenging to step away from your current environment to visualize a tranquil therapeutic space. Often, I’ve been able to achieve this with subtle changes I may ask a client to do. Telehealth experiences can be unique in offering safety and peace of mind.
Becoming whole is possible.
Joy will come in the morning. Have faith in the process. You are worth fighting for.
There is so much more to you than an experience that tried to grip you.
Together, we can discover who you really want to become. Your mental wellness is important, and I’m here to help.
